Depressing

This is just depressing. Its not that you shouldn't bluff about subjects you don't know- everyone does and it is a social skill to be able to engage on subjects you don't understand, its one way of learning. But to aspire to be able to bluff and not to aspire to know depresses me. This is a personal post, but its at times like these that I'm tempted to become a grumpy young man.

This is real life I am afraid.
Seeing HOW someone bluffs, it then makes it easier to call them out on it.

Sad, I agree, Gracchi. As you say, we all bluff but I draw the line when it comes to literature! A lot of FE students in the UK only wanted info "fed" to them; they didn't want to actually have any knowledge!

Sometimes I wonder if I'm being a bit harsh- I bluff sometimes but hey I just feel lauding it is a problem and it produces the kinds of attitudes you talk about Welshcakes.

And as for you B, takes one to know one I suppose.

Standard exam technique. You can't know all of it so you have to know the salient bits, plus a few choice quotes and the rest is up to your own blarney.
